Mason Jar Candle Holder - DIY

Simple DIY candle holder that can add dramatic shades to your hall. You need a empty glass jar, some glue(fevicol), some glitter and satin ribbon. I have used an empty jam jar as it is easy to peel of its label.  Draw any shapes of your choice on the outer surface of jar using a sketch pen. Apply glue on the inside of the drawn outline of shapes and sprinkle the glitter over it. Gently shake excess glitter and let the jar dry. Decorate with satin ribbon and add a candle of your choice inside the jar. With the glitter it gets quite messy around, so make sure you use some old newspapers as your base work area.

Vibrant corner decor created with clay artifacts - DIY

You must have seen those roadside sellers, selling clay pots in various sizes and shapes along with regular plant pots. I am always fascinated by these and wanted to incorporate them in my home. So I created this corner with a horse shaped clay pot, a boat shaped clay pot , a few artificial flowers, some indoor plants and old show piece.  You can go with your imagination when creating a corner decor with clay pots.  Just opt for fresh colors, different shapes and add few more natural elements like plants and you will have a eye catching point in your home!!

Nrityagram - a peaceful place to spend weekend morning

Though I am not a big time traveler, I enjoy visiting places of historic importance yet not frequented by many and also places where one can get to know and/or learn something very unique cultural aspect of that society! Well too many demands isn’t it?  However in one of my visit plan I discovered a very unique place to visit that is just around 35km (approx. 21.7 miles) from Bangalore! If you enjoy nature and calmness, this is perfect place for short visit on a weekend from Bangalore. Hmm, hard to believe? Come along with me as I take you on a (virtual) tour of such a place called “Nrityagram”  which translates to “dance village”. This place is one of India’s modern Gurukul, which means a residential school for Indian Classical dances and an international community in form of dance village. This dance village offers formal training in various Indian Classical dance forms. Entrance and car parking area in rustic stone structure sets your expectations from this place.
